A note, on the Journal.
The Journal is the office's way of being known by what it writes, not by what it claims. The pieces gathered here are the ones the desk actually consulted, the operators it actually vetted, the routings it actually arranged in the quarter just past. Editorial weight follows from work done; nothing in these pages is hypothetical. The six sections were chosen because they are the six questions every correspondent eventually asks: which aircraft, which routing, which operator, which market, which person, which house. The Journal answers them in that order, on a quarterly cadence, by the correspondents whose bylines appear above. A correspondent who finds the office's view useful is welcome to write back. The desk reads every letter, and replies to most.
